About The Pig's Kitchen

#

Nick is the owner of the business but still loves to cook. He started working in the kitchen somewhat late in life; he was 34 at the time but all of a sudden discovered the simple pleasure of cooking lovely food, simply and presenting it beautifully. It's a creative thing and it leaves him with a warm and fuzzy feeling inside. Nick won't cook for big numbers because he is not very good at it but he loves small dinner parties and hog-roasts. When not cooking, he is frequently running the front of house team and having a good time.

Helen started working in catering when she was thirteen, working in restaurants and pubs. She is our qualified chef having attended college for five years studying catering management and gaining membership of the HCIMA. Helen moved to the Lakes in 1987 taking the position of Assistant Manager and then General Manager of a large hotel. Her passion is cooking though and after seven years as the manager she moved into the position of Head Chef.

Helen joined The Pigs Kitchen and the team at Winder Hall five years ago and also began working as the cook at our village primary school. Our ethos of putting people, not profit, first, was what attracted her to our business plus the pleasure of being able to work with really fresh local ingredients. Creating dishes that meet the requirements of our clients provides the constant challenge that Helen thrives on plus cooking for lots and lots of people. Apart from cooking, Helen's other passions are spending time with her daughter and trying to get to grips with the game of golf!

Suzanne is the Events Manager and front of house team leader. Her background is very much in wedding co-ordinating which she enjoyed for eight years before traveling around the world. Once she returned to England she decided to settle in the Lake District eleven years ago. When we asked Suzanne why she loved the job so much she said, "Imagine attending a wedding or party five or six times a month, it's magnificent. I'm just so pleased I don't need to keep buying the outfits!" When not party planning you will find Suzanne in the office at Winder Hall or out and about meeting new customers which is what she loves doing.

The Pigs Kitchen team certainly went the Whole Hog on our wedding day - We will be recommending you to our friends!
